About the Artist

Ryan Sanders

Cherokee Nation

Siyo, my name is Ryan Sanders. I am a traditional and flintknapping
artist. My passion and love for this art comes from the outdoors as well as
many days/moons walking rivers, creeks and lake banks looking for artifact
tools to inspire my work and understand the struggles of making these tools
from stone.

I’m 30 years old and have practiced this art for around 9 years. I learn
from the very best human in the world, Cherokee National Treasure Vyrl Keeter.
I hope to keep traditional roots to my core with any piece I make, together
with throwing a modern twist on some pieces as well. Thanks for reading a
