Kristy is a Cherokee Nation citizen who resides in Muskogee,
Oklahoma. Using some of the same techniques as her ancestors, Kristy creates
Cherokee double-walled baskets with a modern flair. She loves to incorporate
her own style to the baskets with lots of color. She uses commercial reed and
dye to make them. She is a mostly self-taught artist, with the exception of an
occasional lesson from her stepdaughter, Talisha Lewallen. Kristy likes to
share her baskets with other people. She can often be found at local markets
selling her baskets.
