About the Artist

Pamela Bakke

Cherokee Nation

Pam Bakke is a Cherokee Nation citizen who was born in Okmulgee, Oklahoma, and raised in Mayes County, Oklahoma. Her maiden name is Grass, but her tribal lineage also includes Standingwater and Whitekiller. She resides in Chouteau, Oklahoma. Pam does clay work, bead work, basketry, twining, finger weaving, moccasin making, leather pouches, cornhusk dolls, rattles, works with gourds, makes stickball equipment and does all types of crafts. She also loves spending time with her family and passing these things down to them and others.
