About the Artist

Daniel Vallo

Pueblo of Acoma

I am a multimedia artist from the Pueblo of Acoma. I work with stone, obsidian, chert and flint. I create usable art — flintknapping tools, blades and arrowheads.

My art consists of bows and arrows, spears and knives using primitive techniques.

I am also a traditional potter: collecting natural clay, processing it and using natural pigments for slips and paints.
