My name is Starla Pettit, from Stilwell, Oklahoma, and I am 32 years old. A mom of three, I work at the Wilma Mankiller Health Center in Stilwell. Although I have weaved throughout my life, for the last three years I have assisted, taught, and learned from my mentor, Cherokee National Treasure Barbara Adair. I enjoy round reed basket weaving and can't wait to learn more basketry. I hope to one day be able to pass this tradition to future generations.
