Phyllis Jennings was born and raised in Miami, Oklahoma, and is a member of the Cherokee tribe. She currently resides in Salt Lake City, Utah, where she is a member of the Utah Watercolor Society. For over a decade, she has been receiving instruction at the Petersen Art Center under the direction of Harold “Pete” Petersen and currently under Maura Naughton. Her preferred medium is watercolor, and her subjects tend to vary from animals to Native American dancers or landscapes.
