Roy Boney Jr. is an award-winning artist and filmmaker from Tahlequah, Oklahoma. He has a bachelor’s degree in graphic design from Oklahoma State University and a Master of Arts in studio art from the University of Arkansas – Little Rock. He is recognized as a Cherokee National Treasure for Painting and a Master Artist with the Five Civilized Tribes Museum.

Boney’s work combines Cherokee language and culture with influences from popular culture. He served as a Cherokee Nation Language Department program manager for more than a decade before transitioning to Cherokee Film as a producer and Cherokee language revitalization manager. His work has been widely exhibited and has been published by numerous outlets including the London-based newspaper The Guardian, Oxford University, the University of Oklahoma and Marvel Comics.
