Stephanie Stick lives in Kenwood, Oklahoma, and is a third-generation Cherokee basket weaver. She learned the traditional art from her late mother, Maxine Stick, and is dedicated to preserving and sharing her family’s basket-weaving heritage. Stephanie creates baskets using buckbrush and commercial reed, blending traditional techniques with contemporary craftsmanship. Through her work and classes, she is committed to passing this cultural tradition on to future generations while honoring the legacy of her mother and the enduring artistry of Cherokee basket weaving.
