Cherokee Nation

I am Vicki Coppedge. I have been a resident of Rocky Ford, Oklahoma, in northern Cherokee County for most of my life.

I have been a basket maker for more than 30 years. I learned all I know from my mother, Cherokee National Treasure Bessie Russell.

I concentrate my craft on flat reed mats and baskets, and gather honeysuckle to make Cherokee double wall baskets.
